Montgomery Area Nontraditional Equestrians (M.A.N.E.) is a nonprofit therapeutic riding center that has provided therapeutic horseback riding opportunities in Alabama’s Tri-County region since 1994. The program serves children and adults through horse-based activities that support physical and mental well-being.
M.A.N.E. offers therapeutic riding led by certified PATH Intl. instructors and trained volunteers. Its program focuses on emotional bonding, behavior support, life skills, and functional progress, while encouraging riders to build independence through activities such as grooming and tacking when appropriate. Riders range in age from 4 to 80, and sessions are structured around individual goals and abilities.
The center operates on a dedicated property in Pike Road and runs seasonal riding sessions along with a Unified Summer Camp. Current public materials also describe scholarship support that helps many enrolled students participate without added financial strain.
