About the Program

The center says it began in January 2020 in a backyard barn with one horse, one pony and six clients, founded by Stephanie Smith and Holly Fletcher. In November 2021 it moved to a 12,720-square-foot indoor equestrian facility on a 126-acre historic ranch, and it says it joined PATH Intl. as a member center in 2022. Its website says adaptive riding lessons are planned and supervised by certified therapeutic riding instructors. Learn more about therapeutic riding.

For veterans, the V.E.T.S. program offers private, group and family sessions at no cost, year-round. The HEART program serves youth enrolled in Health First Colorado, with clinical oversight and authorization provided by partner Four Feathers Counseling. See also equine therapy for veterans.

New riders complete an application, a health history form and a physician's statement or sports physical. Group adaptive horsemanship lessons run in 9-week series, and the center also lists summer programs and short workshops. It says most after-school times have a wait list, so call for availability.
