More about this center
About the Program
According to its website, Hope Therapy was founded in 2001 by mother and daughter Marianne Davenport, a pediatric nurse practitioner, and Rebecca (Becky) Davenport, an occupational therapist. The site says it is the only PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Center in Northeast Florida.
Sessions are individualized, usually one-on-one, and led by either an occupational therapist or a therapeutic riding instructor. The farm has a wheelchair-accessible mounting ramp, an outdoor riding arena, a sensory trail and adaptive equipment, plus picnic tables and seating for families.
Getting Started
Every new client needs a doctor's order. The website provides a Physician Packet for the doctor and a Patient Packet for the client or parent, plus a separate Veterans Packet. Completed forms are mailed to the farm, and Hope Therapy then contacts the family to set up an evaluation. Hours are by appointment only.
Clients are accepted case by case. Hope Therapy also takes volunteers, who help as side walkers and with farm chores, and offers a horse sponsorship program.
Location
Hope Therapy is at 1591 Big Branch Road, Middleburg, FL 32068, on what the website describes as a 12-acre property. Visits are by appointment only.
