Riding Institute for Disabled Equestrians (RIDE) is a nonprofit equine-assisted activities program that serves children and adults with developmental, emotional, mental, and physical challenges. Its mission focuses on providing therapeutic horse-based experiences that support mobility, strength, confidence, and independence.
The program offers equine-assisted activities and equine-facilitated mental health support in a setting designed to help riders experience movement patterns similar to walking while strengthening the pelvis, hips, spine, and related muscle groups. RIDE also includes a sensory trail as part of its participant experience.
RIDE operates from County Road 250 in Silt and has served the western Colorado community for many years. The organization was recognized as the Rifle Chamber of Commerce Non-Profit of the Year in 2017.
