About the Program
MTRA describes itself as a PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Center with credentialed therapeutic riding instructors. According to its website, riding typically runs five days a week, nine months a year, with morning, afternoon and evening classes organized into four 8-week sessions.
The hippotherapy program operates in partnership with AdventHealth Pediatric Rehab Ocala, and the website says its therapists are trained through the American Hippotherapy Association. Only speech therapy is offered through hippotherapy at this time, with occupational and physical therapy planned.
Freedom Reins is run with the Ocala Vet Center. Sessions pair a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor with a psychotherapist from the Vet Center, for veterans living with PTSD, traumatic brain injuries or limb loss. The Equine Experience program offers equine-facilitated learning for children in foster care and children considered at-risk, according to its website.

How do I enroll a new rider?
