According to its website, Tailored Rides began in early 2016 at Weybap Farm, operating two days a week with two therapy horses. It now runs five days a week with six horses. The site lists a 100' x 100' covered, lighted arena, a 60' x 100' outdoor arena, two round pens, gardens and a sensory trail.
Its team page lists founder Taylor Sandoval and Executive Director Evelyn Walker, who oversees program development and operations. The home page says the center currently has one PATH Intl. certified instructor.
Getting Started
New riders submit a Therapeutic Riding Application (or a Financial Aid Application), complete an initial assessment lesson and finish the paperwork. A doctor's release may be required if staff deem it necessary. Private lessons run in 4-week sessions, and riders may join mid-session if space allows, with fees pro-rated.
The Veterans & First Responders program meets once a week for four weeks, about 90 minutes per session, and needs no prior horse experience.
Volunteering
