More about this center
About the Program
The website says Access Equestrian was established in 2010. Its adaptive riding and horsemanship lessons are planned around each rider's educational, physical, social, recreational or competitive goals. Lessons can include warm-ups, skill work, goal-based games, grooming and tacking, competition preparation and trail rides. Lessons run weekly, year-round, weather permitting.
Hippotherapy is provided by physical therapist Janet Maurantonio, MSPT, who can be reached at (914) 261-7998. The Pony Club teaches horse and pony care, riding and mounted sports, with an emphasis on leadership and confidence.
Summer Enrichment Program
The summer program is a farm-based day program for children, teens and young adults ages 6 and up with special needs and other life challenges. Friends and siblings without a diagnosed disability are welcome. Sessions run 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and include barn safety, horse and animal care, daily riding, yoga, crafts and games. The website lists full-week sessions at $725 and shorter mini sessions at $425, with a 50% deposit to hold a spot.
