About the Program

CTRC says it has held PATH Intl. Premier Accreditation since 1982. Riding classes are taught by PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructors with trained volunteers. Group classes have up to 6 riders, grouped by age, disability and riding skill, and pair and private classes are also listed, with limited private availability.

Its hippotherapy sessions are one-on-one, 30 to 45 minutes once a week, and led by a licensed physical, occupational or speech therapist, according to its website. For equine-assisted mental health, the site directs families to contact All in Stride, LLC directly.

Getting Started

Applicants submit an online participant application, which places them on the waitlist. When space opens, CTRC sends an enrollment packet with a medical form for the participant's doctor, then schedules a new participant evaluation. A clinical diagnosis is not required, and the center lists a 200 lb weight limit.

Services run year-round in about four sessions a year, each 5 to 14 weeks long, Monday through Friday. Participants register for a full session.
