More about this center

About the Program

According to its website, Partners is a PATH Intl. Center and its lessons are taught by PATH certified instructors. Weekly lessons run in five- to nine-week sessions through the year, and most students ride for 30 minutes, with some unmounted and advanced riders taking 45-minute lessons.

Mounted riders usually start with a horse leader and one or two side-walkers and work toward riding as independently as possible. Unmounted students learn to care for and handle horses from the ground. Small-group, half-day summer camps for local children run in July and August and combine riding, horse care, art and water activities.

Getting Started

The center says all lesson spots are currently full and that it adds new students from its waitlist as spots open. Families submit a Student Application with a health history, a physician's statement and consent forms, followed by an on-site evaluation based on PATH International guidelines.

Referrals come from physicians, therapists, schools and California Regional Centers. Partners is a San Diego Regional Center social recreation vendor, and SDRC clients work with their service coordinator to request funding authorization after the evaluation.
