What’s the difference between hippotherapy and therapeutic riding?

Hippotherapy is a treatment session led by a licensed physical, occupational or speech therapist, who uses the horse’s movement as a tool. Therapeutic riding is an adaptive riding lesson taught by a certified instructor. Ask each center which it offers, since many offer one but not the other.
