According to its website, Manes For Movement was founded in 2018 in Rolling Hills Estates by Dr. Erin O'Mahony, PT, DPT, who serves as executive director. Therapy sessions that use horse movement are led by licensed clinicians: the staff page lists Dr. O'Mahony as a physical therapist and Dr. Liz Pauly, OTD, OTR/L, ATP, as an occupational therapist.
Adaptive riding lessons are taught by PATH Intl. certified therapeutic riding instructors, the website says, and combine mounted and unmounted activities adapted to each rider's goals. Program director Niki MacLeod is listed as a PATH certified instructor. A June 2026 ABC7 report said the program was growing from about 50 clients a week toward 65, and that most clients have cerebral palsy, with others including autistic clients.
