Santa Ynez Valley Therapeutic Riding Program is a nonprofit equine-assisted services center that serves children and adults with physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and other life challenges. Founded in 1990, the program focuses on providing high-quality therapeutic riding regardless of a participant’s ability to pay.
Its services include therapeutic riding, horsemanship, school and group programs, and a mental health program. Lessons are taught on specially trained horses, and the program serves about 70 students each week and more than 300 people each year.
The program operates at the Santa Ynez Valley Equestrian Association Center and is a PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Center, the highest national rating.
