Project R.I.D.E., Inc. is a nonprofit therapeutic horseback riding center that has served children and adults with disabilities since 1979. Its mission focuses on improving physical, emotional, and social functioning through safe, structured horseback riding programs.
The center offers therapeutic recreational riding instruction for riders age 3 and older with medically diagnosed physical or intellectual disabilities. Lessons are designed to build balance, flexibility, confidence, and independence through work with specially trained horses and volunteers.
Project R.I.D.E. serves the Sacramento region from its facility in Elk Grove and is a PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Center. It currently serves hundreds of riders from a 10-county area and has one of the longest-running therapeutic riding programs in the region.
