M.A.R.E. Therapeutic Riding Center is a nonprofit equine-assisted services program that serves children, adults, and veterans with special needs and disabilities. It has been improving lives in Kern County since 1990 through horse-based therapies and activities designed to support physical, cognitive, and emotional growth.
The center offers adaptive riding, unmounted equine-assisted programs, and an equine simulator program. Its adaptive riding instruction is taught by PATH Intl. Certified Therapeutic Instructors and is designed to build horsemanship skills while supporting behavioral, physical, and educational goals.
M.A.R.E. serves more than 85 riders each week and maintains a herd of 15 horses with the help of a large volunteer community. It is a PATH Intl. member organization and follows PATH Intl. standards for participant safety, facility management, and humane equine care.
