According to its website, JoyRide was founded in 2009 and is a PATH Intl. Premier Accredited Center. Riding lessons run 30 to 45 minutes, include both mounted and unmounted activities, and are taught by a PATH Intl. certified instructor with volunteer support. The center says lessons are customized to each rider's social, physical or cognitive goals.
Equine Connections is a group format that uses planned activities with horses to build life skills such as trust, respect and communication. The PREP Enrichment and Support Program is a day program for high school transition clients age 16 and up, running Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a maximum of nine clients per day. The center describes small groups led by a certified teacher and a mentor. Clients can attend a few hours, a half day or a full day.
