About the Program
According to its website, David and Teresa Miller co-founded the center in 2012 after equine therapy helped their youngest daughter, who was born with Kabuki Syndrome. The center serves riders in Parker County and nearby areas.
Lessons cover English and Western riding, including pleasure, trail and showmanship. Students also learn horse care, handling and management, and the website says its lesson horses are retired show horses. The Patriots Program
The Patriots Program is for veterans living with PTSD or other injuries connected to military service. The website says it meets weekly, includes groundwork and riding, needs no previous horse experience and is free for veterans. The center says it recruits veteran volunteers to support participants. The Horses and Staff
The center lists three instructors: Teresa Miller, Program Director and PATH Certified Instructor, along with Misty Wright and Lisa Keefe, both PATH Certified Instructors. Volunteers must be at least 14 and attend an orientation. The center says it needs volunteers Monday through Thursday.
