EquestrianTherapy.com is an independent directory that helps individuals, families, and caregivers find equine-assisted therapy programs across the United States and Canada — and understand how they work before reaching out.
Our Mission
Equine-assisted therapy can be life-changing, but finding the right program is often harder than it should be. Listings are scattered, terminology is confusing, and it’s not always clear what a given center actually offers. We built EquestrianTherapy.com to fix that: one place to discover programs by location, learn what different therapies involve, and make an informed choice with confidence.
We’re not a provider and we don’t run any of the centers you’ll find here. We’re a directory and a learning resource — the starting point for your search, not a substitute for the centers themselves.
What We Do
Our directory brings together more than 1,000 riding centers and equine-assisted programs across the U.S. and Canada, searchable by state or province or by how close they are to you. Alongside the directory, our guides explain the different approaches — therapeutic riding, hippotherapy, equine-assisted learning, and more — in plain language, so you know what you’re looking for before you call.
What Is Equine Therapy?
Equine-assisted therapy covers a range of activities and treatments that involve horses as part of the therapeutic process. It’s used to support people working through anxiety, depression, PTSD, autism, trauma, grief, and physical disabilities, among other things. Horses are unusually responsive to human emotion and movement, which is part of what makes them effective partners in this kind of work. Our guide to equine therapy goes deeper into how and why it works.
Who It Can Help
Equine-assisted programs serve a wide range of people: children with developmental and learning differences, veterans and first responders managing PTSD, adults navigating anxiety, depression, or trauma, individuals with physical disabilities seeking movement-based therapy, and anyone drawn to a non-traditional path toward wellbeing. Different centers specialize in different populations, which is why finding the right match matters.
How to Use the Directory
Start by browsing by state or province or finding centers near you. Each listing includes the details we have on file — location, contact information, and what the center offers. Because programs and accreditations change over time, we always recommend confirming a center’s current services, certifications, and availability with the center directly before making a decision.
